Planet projects are a great way to introduce students to the Solar System . This template is sure to spark your students’ imaginations and result in a lovely display for the classroom. Students choose one of eight planets and fill in a ‘fact sheet’ describing it.

Students will research information such as:

Students will also get to find 3 fun facts about their planet. This information will then be used to write a paragraph about the planet.

For students who need additional support, consider assigning a partner or completing in a 1:1 setting. Furthermore, students could only complete the fact sheet and not the writing component. Additionally, provide access to previous assignments, as well as posters and anchor charts for students to recall past lessons.

For students who need an additional challenge, encourage them to find additional information or research more than one planet.
